Introduction
The 1st Hydro Summit, organized by Philippine Association of Small-Scale Hydropower, Inc. (PASSHYDRO), was held in March 2013. The Hydro Summit was initially thought to be conducted on a regular basis as a venue for the hydropower players to discuss concerns as well as to network and build relationships. An immediate follow-through, however, was not conducted as the association was re-organized. PASSHYDRO was renamed as PHILHYDRO Association, Inc. (PHILHYDRO).
As the hydropower industry faced challenging times, PHILHYDRO decided that a follow-through might be most appropriate. The 2nd Philippine Hydropower Summit and Exhibition was aimed to re-launch the association, re-introduce it to the energy market and rally the members to become more active in taking hold of the issues and concerns of the industry.
